"The Service Level Agreement (SLA) is a clear statement of what each customer can expect from OSRL/EARL. It is integral to the agreement between OSRL/EARL and its members and it shows how both parties can gain the most value from it."

As part of the SLA, a representative of OSRL/EARL will visit our customers and their facilities to review preparedness and clarify roles and responsibilities during a spill.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Effective and efficient spill response starts with preparation, long before any incident. A response would be ineffective if our personnel and equipment were unable to integrate with the customer and on-site response structure. Likewise if the relevant authorities are not prepared for the industry approach or are hostile to it, resources will be wasted.

THE THREE KEY ELEMENTS OF THE SLA ARE:
1. Response Services Providing experienced spill management teams, equipment
and dispersants in the event of a spill
2. Response Integration Providing advice and assistance to customers especially
through annual spill preparedness review meetings
3. Response Advocacy Providing support and promotion of the industry oil spill
philosophy

THE SLA BENEFITS INCLUDE:
• Regional support for the oil industry
• Testing and validation of customers' contingency plans
• Highly trained personnel and well maintained response equipment
• Response, information or advice 24 hours a day, all year round
• Support of the International Technical Advisory Committee (ITAC)
• Tier 2 response facilities to support industry high activity areas
• Specific timeline for mobilisation of personnel and equipment from the bases
• Working with the leading global agencies to provide and promote a more
effective and responsible response to oil spills
• Spill management at the site of the response
• Proven ability to deliver personnel and equipment to remote locations
• Large stockpile of dispersant with the technical knowledge and capability to
carry out aerial and boat spraying operations

It's about having the right people, the right training and the appropriate equipment on standby for rapid deployment 24/7.

THE INTEGRATION PROGRAMME
OSRL/EARL proactively engages all its customers in a programme of integration that reviews preparedness and clarifies how the organisations will work together.

A key element of this Integration Programme is a "Self Check" review, a copy of this document is available for download.

All new members receive an integration programme explaining how to get the best out of OSRL/EARL.
