OSRL/EARL, the largest global oil spill response organisation fully funded by major oil companies around the world, works very closely with some key organisations. The objectives of OSRL/EARL through collaboration with governmental regional centres and organisations and oil spill working groups are setting standards and best practices within the industry.
 
GEF/UNDP/IMO Regional Programme on Building Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA)
• East Asian Seas Partnership Council Meeting
• PEMSEA Network of Local Government
• Implementation of Framework Programme for Joint Oil Spill Preparedness, Response and Co-operation in the Gulf of Thailand

NOWPAP MERRAC
• Attained permanent observer status with this regional grouping under the aegis of IPIECA
• Collaboration with NOWPAP Expert Group on the “Minimum level of preparedness” project for the region
• Planning for the NOWPAP Regional Exercise 2008, inaugural industry involvement integrating resources from Singapore

Productive engagement with China regulatory authorities
• Presented a paper in the Shanghai International Maritime Forum 2007
• Provided technical advice in the development of the local oil spill contingency plan through China MSA Qingdao branch
• Delivery of IMO Level 2 training course through China MSA at Y antai OSR Technical Centre
• Engagement with IMO / IPIECA / China MSA to implement spirit of the “Statement of Intent”

Collaboration with US Federal agencies on parallel missions in West Africa

• Meeting to harness synergy and most productive use of resources to build regional preparedness

Spill Response Experience (“SPREEX”) Workshop
• Contributed to European level workshop giving technical input to R&D focused activities

Support for IPIECA regional workshop in Tiered Preparedness and Response in Bahrain

• Integral support and input to industry / government workshop
• Designed and delivered table top exercise
• Hosted visit to OSRL/EARL Bahrain base facilities
