All of our response, consultancy, advisory, training and broader technical services reflect the latest experience, response practices and government requirements.

Advocacy is best summarised as the promotion of industry best practice - a key activity we undertake on behalf of our members.

Working closely with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Petroleum Industry Environment Conservation Association (IPIECA); we support the development of international standards to promote industry best practice that are of benefit to both governments and industry alike.

All of our response, consultancy, advisory, training and broader technical services reflect the latest experience, response practices and government requirements. This has led to the implementation of projects to improve standards and fill response gaps in various regions.

Projects for the West and Central Africa Region illustrate this well with the coordination of the most ambitious GI project ever (GI-WACAF) to assist governments to reach a minimum level of preparedness by 2009, and the promotion of Tier 2 response services through an Aerial Dispersant and Surveillance Service for industry. Our management of various GI projects ensures a consistency of message and commitment to government and industry working together on all aspects of oil spill preparedness and response.
